Summary
Three Congolese nationals were killed and five further people injured in an attack on a Chinese mining operation in Nganja district of South Kivu Province DRC. Three people died in the attack including one of the attackers. This incident is the latest in a string of attacks which occurred on the 01/09/23 and 09/10/23 on small scale Chinese mining operations in the remote eastern region of DRC. Due to security concerns, another Chinese mining firm ceased activities, closing their operations on 10/10/23. The IPIS reports this incident as unresolved.
