Summary
An national army position in the village of Kinsele (approximately 100 km southeast of the capital Kinshasa) on the RN17 highway in Congo-Kinshasha, previously and more commonly known as the Democratic Republic of the Congo, was attacked by a militia.
Militants, armed with .12 caliber rifles and machetes, were members of the M’obondo militia, an armed organization claiming affiliation to the Yaka ethnic group. It was the second attack in a week.
The army managed to repulse the attack, inflicting major casualties to the militia, but suffered several deaths themselves. A woman was executed by the militia, although reports of her status as combatant or non-combatant conflict. The bodies of the FARDC soldiers were extracted and transferred to a mortuary in Kinshasa. This was the second attack in a week, the first being on the 12th of July.
